Red Meat

Living with a red meat allergy has changed a lot of my daily life in ways most people don't notice. I can't eat foods like beef, or lamb without risking a reaction, so I always have to be careful about what I'm eating. It's not just obvious things like straight up burgers or steak, sometimes red meat products are hidden in foods like broths, sauces, or even certain snacks. Because of that, I've gotten used to checking labels and asking questions whenever I eat something I or my family didn't prepare.

Social situations can be difficult too. At family gatherings, barbecues, or restaurants, red meat if often a main option, so i have to plan ahead or bring my own food. Sometimes people don't fully understand the allergy and think I'm just being picky, which can be frustrating. There's also a constant need to stay aware of how I feel after eating, just in case I accidentally consume something that could trigger a reaction.

Over time, I've adapted by finding alternatives like chicken, fish, or plant-based options. It has helped me become more aware of my health and what I put into my body. Even though it can limiting at times, it's also taught me responsibility and how to advocate for myself in different situations.
