When I was around 12 years old, my mom brought one of these big bags full of raw and other nuts that were mixed in the bag. I wanted to eat some of that bag so I just grabbed it and started eating it while I was on the couch. But suddenly after a while, my throat started feeling really itchy and so did my lips, a very intense itching sensation. To be honest,it felt a little hard to even breathe after a couple minutes. I ran to the bathroom to look into the mirror and saw that my lips had bumps all over them so I ran back to the kitchen and grabbed an allergy pill. That pill helped me a lot but I still felt the effects of the allergy in my throat but eventually it passed the next day. At first, I had no idea I was allergic to raw almonds so this allergy came as a huge surprise to me, as did all the other allergies I have that were discovered later in life. Raw almonds were my favorite kind of nut but when I figured out I was allergic to them, it was honestly devastating.
